MV Series Vertical Honing Machine

The Barnes MV Series Vertical Honing Machines are equipped with a “quill” type spindle configuration.  This design insures precise stroke and size control for producing statistically capable bore diameters to meet any level of production.  It also allows for precise reciprocation movement and "reversal" capability.  Modular in design, the MV Series can be used as a stand-alone single spindle honing machine or in multiples as highly automated , high production honing systems with individually operated spindles.

 

This series is designed to machine  bore diameters measuring from 1-1/8”(32 mm) to 5” (127 mm).  The MV Systems are offered with  multiple table arrangements including fixed, lateral or rotary index.  A programmable stroke control feature ensures dependability and accurate results.  A variety of automatic hone expansion systems – hydraulic , pneumatic or AC Servo – are available.  Dry floor guarding provides safety for the operator and a clean work area.  Ease of operation is made possible with a PLC based control system and touch screen operator interface featuring menu-type programming.
